I. People who died for refusing medical treatment
There are more than 1,400 Falun Gong practitioners died because of refusing medical treatment.
Li Hongtzhi preached to his followers:
--Why do people have diseases? The basic cause of all illness and misfortune is karma...We practitioners do not talk about illnesses, because they are all the results of karma...in fact illness can never be cured completely.
--Taking medicine during practicing means you don't believe that practicing can cure disease. Why shall you take medicine if you really believe...
--As I have told you, when we Falun Gong practitioners feel uncomfortable with our body, we shall not take it as illness. Illness is a kind of "karma". Hospital cannot eliminate karma.
--War, plague and natural and man-made disasters are all ways of diminishing karma.
1. Li Shulin was a 53-year-old male Falun Gong practitioner from Jinzhou of Liaoning Province. In early August 1994, Li Shulin and his wife, after practicing Falun Gong for more than one year, went to Harbin for listening to Li Hongzhi's "Fa-teaching". It was so unfortunate that Li Shulin suffered cerebral thrombosis on the class. When Li was sent to hospital, he refused to have medical treatment and staggered back to the class without necessary treatment to seek help from Li Hongzhi. Being informed of that, Li Shulin's elder son, his daughter and his son-in-law hurried to Harbin. Seeing that Li Shulin was in prolonged coma and hyperpyrexia, they asked Li Hongzhi to give treatment. Li Hongzhi said it was quite normal during practicing Falun Gong, saying that Li Shulin was practicing a high level Gong and no medical treatment was necessary for him. When Li Shulin's son-in-law asked Li Hongzhi, "Is my father-in-law in emergency condition?" Li Hongzhi answered, "No, he isn't." A few days later, as Li Shulin's illness worsened, his son and his son-in-law implored Li Hongzhi on their knees to save their father. Li Hongzhi just said that he had no time. Later, Li Hongzhi sent one of his disciples to diagnose Li Shulin. The man left without a word after diagnosis and Li Shulin passed away that very night.
2.Hu Guangying, female, was a 59-year-old retired worker in Shanghai. She began to practice Falun Gong in 1996 along with her husband and her daughter. In August 2000, when she had dermatosis, Hu Guangying refused to have medical treatment. Then her ailment gradually worsened and she had to keep the bed. During the 2001 Spring Festival, her dermatosis became festered bedsore. On January 26, 2001, Hu Guangying could not swallow the food she ate. On January 29, when Hu Guangying's husband found her heartbeat accelerated and her face paled, he immediately informed his son. When the first aid doctors arrived on emergency call, Hu Guanying already died. Later, her husband still insisted, "Since practicing Falun Gong can kill the pathogenic bacteria, medicine will have no effect and no medical treatment is necessary." and said, "Everyone will have that day (to die)."
3. Sun Guiying, a 53-year-old female Falun Gong practitioner from Harbin City of Helongjiang Province, began practicing Falun Gong in May 1997. On August 6, 1998, when Sun Guiying had a bellyache, she refused to have medical treatment by following Li Hongzhi's order and under the dissuasion of her fellow practitioners. On the next morning, a lot of Falun Gong practitioners came to see Sun Guiying and encourage her not to have medicine. Sun Guiying's illness worsened sharply, at about 8 pm, Sun Guiying lost in narcosis and the fellow practitioners still sat around her reciting Li Hongzhi's lection. When Sun Guiying's daughter asked them to help send Sun to hospital, none of then gave a hand. With the help of her relatives, Sun was sent to the provincial hospital at 9 pm. Sun died at 11 pm after unsuccessful emergency treatment. The hospital determined that it was acute enteritis that killed Sun Guiying, and she would not have died if she had been sent to the hospital one hour earlier.
II. People who died by committing suicide
There are more than 300 hundred Falun Gong practitioners who died by committing suicide
Li Hongzhi preached to his followers:
--You will become immortal if you feel nothing to life and death. You will remain a mortal if you feel something to life and death.
--I will stage a marvelous spectacle by bring all my disciples to fly into the heaven. Those who do not want their bodies may melt them away in the air.
--In the eyes of beings in very high realms, humankind is like rubbish.
--The Nanjing Massacre and Hitler's killing were caused by changes of astronomical phenomena.
1. Tian'anmen Square self-immolation incident: On January 23, 2001 (Chinese Lunar New Year Eve), under the instigation of Li Hongzhi's fallacies such as "let go of the conception of life and death", "raising to heaven", "consummation" and "there is strong Qi field on Tian'anmen Square", Wang Jindong, Hao Huiyun and her daughter Chen Guo, Liu Chunling and her daughter Liu Siying, Liu Yunfang and Liu Baorong -- all from Henan Province -- shocked the world with their collective self-immolation on Tian'anmen Square. As a result, Liu Chunling was burned to death; Liu Chinling's 12-year old daughter Liu Siying also died after unsuccessful emergency treatment because of pathological changes caused by serious burns; Hao Huijuan, her daughter Chen Guo and Wang Jindong were seriously burned with Hao Huijuan and Chen Guo being completely disabled in taking care of themselves and; Liu Yunfang and Liu Baorong were arrested as they attempted to have self-immolation. As survivors of the incident confessed, they were gradually "enlightened" on their way following Li Hongzhi's fallacies that they should have self-immolation on Tian'anmen Square so that they could realize their dream of "raising to heaven" and "becoming immortal " as was promised by Li Hongzhi to all Falun Gong practitioners.
2. Ma Jianmin, male, a 54-year-old retired worker from the Huabei Oilfield in north China, began to practice Falun Gong in 1996. As he got more and more obsessed in Falun Gong, Ma Jianmin himself became more and more unsociable and eccentric. He refused to have medical treatment for his illness and even stopped taking antihypertensive and antihyperlipidemic drugs. Ma Jianmin firmly believed in Li Hongzhi's fallacies, claiming that he had a "wheel of law rotating in his stomach" and "practice Falun Gong will have the blessing of Bodhisattva". On September 4, 1998, Ma cut open his abdomen with a pair of scissors to look for the "Wheel of Law", and finally died of excessive loss of blood.
3. Yang Qiugui was a 26-year-old male Falun Gong practitioner from Yujiang County of Jiangxi Province. He went to U.K. to study for a Doctor's degree on Automation at University of Glasgow in October 1996. He began practicing Falun Gong in 1997 as he got to know it on internet. He soon got obsessed in Falun Gong and firmly believed in Li Hongzhi's "raising to heaven" and "consummation" fallacies. He even wrote to his brother, a college student in Nanjing to instigate him practicing Falun Gong. Yang Qiugui didn't wake up although his anxious brother had written to him many letters to dissuade him. On May 30, 1998, Yang Qiugui went to Frankfurt to have the Fa Conference of Falun Gong. On June 1, He jumped from the second floor of a hostel and died after unsuccessful emergency treatment.
4. Wang Jiuling, a 26-year-old female Falun Gong practitioner from Daqing City of Helongjiang Province, began practicing Falun Gong in 1997. On July 2000, Wang Jiuling accompanied her husband to visit their relatives in Shangdong Province. At about 12 o'clock on 28, July, Wang Jiuling abruptly jumped from the six floor of a building where her relatives resided while holding her four-year-old son in her arms. Wang Jiuling died on the way to hospital and her son also died after unsuccessful emergency treatment.
5. Wang Yajing, a 27-year-old female Falun Gong practitioner from Qinhuangdao City of Hebei Province, began practicing Falun Gong in February 1997. In late 1998, Wang Yajing began to have hallucination and acouasm, claiming that she had created a new world and was not in a same realm with her family members. Since then she didn't ever work but indulge in practicing Falun Gong; didn't allow her husband to launch out for fishing; didn't ever feed her newly born baby or give it medical treatment when it had a hyperpyrexia. It was diagnosed in the hospital that she had Schizophrenia because of severe mental depression. Wang refused to have treatment and finally collapsed mentally. On June 25, 1999, Wang Yajing committed suicide by lying in the rail at the Longjiaying section of Beijing-Shenyang Railway.
III. People murdered by Falun Gong practitioners
There are over 20 people who had been killed or disabled by Falun Gong practitioners.
Li Hongzhi preached to his followers:
--The human race, as a whole, is deteriorating, and there are devils everywhere.
--there are demons interfering and not letting you practice
--The wretched demons just deserve to be killed
--Family members are controlled by demons as well.
1. Guan Shuyun, a female Falun Gong practitioners from Yichun City of Heilongjiang Province, began practicing Falun Gong in April 1997. In order to practice Falun Gong, she "let go of" anything else except Falun Gong. She did nothing but practicing Falun Gong. Sometimes she even practiced at mid-night. She tried to persuade her husband to join her, which resulted in frequent quarrel between the couple. She kept close contact with her fellow practitioners in exchanging experience of "inner spirit cultivation" to strive for an early "consummation". From April 19 to 22, 2002, about 40 Falun Gong practitioners including 4 teenagers gathered at Guan Shuyun's home to "get rid of demon" in practicing Falun Gong. On the morning of April 22, Guan refused to allow her daughter Dai Nan to go to school, saying the girl had been possessed by demon, which had to be exorcised immediately. Guan asked Dai Nan sternly, "Who are you? Where are you from? How many evil things have you done? How many people have you troubled?" Despite the frightened girl beseeched that she was Dai Nan, her true daughter instead of a demon, Guan Shuyun didn't listen to her but clutching her by the throat. When Dai Nan cried, "I am not demon but Dan Nan. You will offend the law if you kill me." Guan said that it was the demon speaking and clutched her more tightly. At that time, the other Falun Gong practitioners had done nothing to stop Guan Shuyun. Some knelt down; some put their palms together praying for an early eliminating of the demon; some retreated to the corner for fear of being possessed by the demon and; still some just stood by looking. The girl was finally chocked to death by her own mother who was determined to get rid of demon.
2. Fu Yibin, a male Falun Gong practitioners from Beijing, began to practice Falun Gong in 1998 and thought that he had found a righteous way of practicing. For seven successive days, he watched video tapes about Falun Gong at night and practiced Falun Gong at a practicing site near his residence in the day time. On November 25, 2001, Fu Yibin killed his father and wife and injured his mother with a kitchen knife at his residence. When he heard that his mother was still alive, Fu Yibin said, "It is providence. I recalled that if I insisted on (choking her by the neck) a little longer, she should have died and would not suffer anymore. I don't want to have her suffer. I just hope she may pass away sooner... I feel no regret but delight."
3. Dong Yan, a female Falun Gong practitioner, was a worker in Liaohe oil field of Liaoning Province. On the evening of December 16, 1999, Dong Yan killed her 6-year-old daughter Xu Che in bed and ran out of the apartment building with her feet naked and bloodstain all over, mumbling, "raising to heaven, raising to heaven..." Dong said afterwards, "I felt when I was practicing "Falun Dafa" that I did not reach the real Buddhahood. I believed it was the right time to release Xu Che's soul from suffering. Therefore I took a kitchen knife and stepped into the room, hacked on her head, face and neck. Her blood spattered on my underpants, and I went downstairs to release her soul." Dong further said, "A demon told me at that time, 'if you kill your daughter, you can become a Buddha.'"
