Gao Qiling, a native of Guangzhou, Guangdong Province.
Gao Qiling began to practice Falun Gong in 1995 and developed a strong faith in it. In the autumn of 1997, Gao was suffering from several illnesses. She had a severe cough, incontinence of the bladder, cancer of the esophagus and osteoporosis. But she refused to acknowledge her illness. When asked, she would say, "I have no illness. I am quite well." She refused to take medicine or see doctors. At the same time she had an illusion that her condition was in fact a test on her posed by Falun Gong, and that once she passed the test, she would become a Buddha.
As her illness tormented her more and more severely, she too wanted to see doctors, but Falun Gong organization controlled her too powerfully. If anyone went to a doctor, he would be followed and criticized. Under this pressure, Gao dared not see a doctor. Later, when her cancer of the esophagus prevented her from drinking water, she stealthily went to see a doctor, but by then her cancer was in the terminal stage. It was too late for medical treatment, and she finally died.
After her death, some people in the Falun Gong organization said her death was just a punishment for her sins, and she was a bad element who had infiltrated into Falun Gong.
