Jiang Chaojun, male, born on June 7, 1954, Han nationality and a primary school graduate, was born in Xiangwan Village in Shangtoufang Township in Nancheng County, Henan Province. Jiang Xiuxia, Jiang`s wife, born on October 16, 1957, Han nationality and a primary school graduate.
In 1989, the couple moved from Henan Province to Heilongjiang Province and became farmers of Zhongcun Village in Pingyang Township in Jidong County. Both of them were honest and diligent in farm work. They had a son and a daughter. Apart from farm work, Jiang Chaojun also did some odd jobs at the tobacco factory in Pingyang. Jiang Xiuxia sometimes did some small business to sell fried twisted dough. They did not live an affluent life, but the family of four enjoyed peace and harmony.
After the couple began to practice Falun Gong in November 1997, they quickly became so addicted that they were obsessed to lose their minds. They did not do farm work day in and day out, and never took an interest in the study of their children. At the night of December 3, 1997, they carried and supported each other on the back in turn and posed as flying in order to rise up to the heaven as Li Hongzhi deluded. They walked that way for 1.5 kilometers but could not fly up. To become celestial beings in the heaven, they went home and Jiang Chaojun cruelly stabbed a sword into Jiang Xiuxia's abdomen and mouth, causing Jiang Xiuxia's death. When being detained, Jiang Chaojun sat crosslegged and fast for 7 days, then died.
An amicable family was broken by Li Hongzhi's fallacies and absurdities. Their 13-year-old daughter Jiang Xuzhen and 10-year-old Jiang Xudong became orphans. They had no one to depend and returned to their native place in Henan.
