Liang Chunxiu, 45, a retired worker of the Weiguo Machinery Plant, Huizhou, Guangdong Province.
Liang used to be very strong and diligent at work, and had a happy family. But since she began to practice Falun Gong in early 1997, she had become completely changed in thinking and behavior. She did not do any housework nor said a word all day long. She believed in Li Hongzhi's fallacies. To maintain the principle of "not killing any living things," she even forbade her family members to kill mosquitoes in the house. When ill, she refused to take medicine, but, instead, kept meditating in sitting position to "dispel bad karma." She refused to go to bed with her husband. She told everyone that her husband Wei Hongguang was not a normal man but a "monster." The family was thus nearly destroyed and the couple were about to get divorced.
