Song Zhenqing, a private clinic owner in the village of Qijia, in Shuangyang District, Changchun City, Jilin Province.

On the morning of July 25, 1999, Song delivered the Falun Gong teaching materials and Li Hongzhi's portrait to the Village's Administration Committee.  He told the village leaders, Falun Gong is indeed harmful to people. Had I not believed Falun Gong, how could I be robbed of ten thousand yuan without seeing clearly the faces of the burglars?" At 11 p.m. on May 22, 1999, Song, exhausted after a day's work in his clinic, fell into a sound sleep together with his family. They were suddenly woken up by an urgent smashing and breaking of their door and windows. A few men holding sharp knives broke in. When Song's family tried to struggle with the robbers, Song, as a practitioner of Falun Gong, suddenly remembered the teaching of "tolerance" in Li Hongzhi's books on Falun Gong. So he asked his wife and son, daughter and daughter-in-law to stop resistance and let the burglars take whatever they like. Seeing Song and his family so cooperative, the robbers ransacked the house for an hour before leaving with 10,300 yuan and some jewelry. At lunch time in the following day, the police learned about the robbery from the villages. They came to the Songs when the whole family were all "meditating" on bed. They confirmed the robbery. Since the Songs adopted the attitude of "tolerance," they had not even noticed what the burglars were look like. When asked why they did not report it to the police and ask for legal protection, Song Zhenqing simply told the police, "The books on Falun Gong told us that any mishap in this life comes from the debts we owe from our previous lives. If I had not practiced Falun Gong, my whole family may have been killed in the incident."
