I’m Wang Lifa, born in September 1950. I am a retired worker at Dawa Salt Field, Shouguang City, Shandong Province. My wife was an industrious and capable woman， planting 20-mu-square grain fields by herself. We both scrimped and saved to support our two sons and a daughter to finish their studies in universities and to find appropriate jobs. We were admired by everyone in our village.
In 1997, my wife often felt dizzy when she was working in the fields. I took her to the hospital and made a physical examination. She was diagnosed with high blood pressure, and needed to use hypotensor on time every day. Following the doctor’s advice, her blood pressure was controlled and she hadn’t felt dizzy any more.
In the Spring Festival of 1998, we went to her parents’ home in Dabeihe Village, where we met with her good friend Sun Xiu’e. When Sun heard that my wife was suffering from the high blood pressure, she strongly advised my wife to practice the most advanced Qigong in the world. She said that practicing this kind of Qigong could cure all diseases without taking pills or having injections, and that the person who practiced it well enough could even achieve Consummation and fly to the heaven. She said that it was called Falun Gong, which we had heard before. When Sun said she had been feeling stronger since she practiced it, my wife was tempted.
After we came back, my wife asked someone else to buy her a copy of Zhuan Falun and began to practice Falun Gong. Out of curiosity, I practiced together with her. My wife stuck to practicing Falun Gong and learning Zhuan Falun every day. Gradually she believed the fallacies in the books of Li Hongzhi, such as eliminating karma, rising to a higher level, becoming an immortal or a Buddha and etc., but I didn’t believe those words. It is a common thing for women believing in ghosts and gods and praying the Bodhisattva in the country. Thus I didn’t take it seriously and often practiced Falun Gong at the practicing site in our village with my wife.
In 1999,our country banned Falun Gong according to the law. For I didn’t believe those fallacies at the very beginning, I gave up practicing soon. But my wife couldn’t accept it, then wouldn’t like to give up and stuck to practicing in secret. Moreover, she was sinking deeper and deeper. She believed the statement of eliminating karma without any doubt and even stopped her daily hypotensor. She said in a positive tone, “People’s diseases are resulted from their karma. Taking pills or having injections is really pressing the karma back into people’s bodies. Only practicing can eliminating karma ultimately.” I advised her to take medicine. However, she said I was a monster that obstructed her exercise.
In 2001, she was told by a practitioner that Li Hongzhi asked them to go out, promote the Fa and then they would be able to rise to a higher level and achieve Consummation. Thus, she offered to join in the activities of spreading materials. Being afraid to be discovered by the police, they often went out at night, putting up materials of Falun Gong from deep into the night to the wee hours of next morning.
She even began to spend the savings of our family concealing from me in buying consumables, paper and printing leaflets. Though our children had grown to be adults and we didn’t need to work hard for their tuition fees, the money were our pension we had been saving all our lives. She took the money as her life before and wouldn’t use it whatever difficulty we had. For her absence all night, worry had grayed my hair.
But I couldn’t stop her. Every time I implored her, she said ruthlessly, “Practicing Falun Gong needs to lay downfame, material interest, and emotion. You are a fickle practitioner. In addition, you are preventing me from practicing. The day of retribution will fall on you sooner or later.” I was in thorough despair on hearing her cruel remarks.
The more heartrending thing was that for my wife’s long going about outside, irregular eating and action, full of fear all the time and not taking medicine, she got the high blood pressure again. She often felt nervous in her heart and tight in her chest. Our children and I all advised her to go to the hospital, but she still insisted on her theory, “The person who practices Falun Gong will not get any disease, for the Master is always protecting him with countless Law Bodies. Being out of sorts is only the sign of karma. By practicing he will eliminate karma and recover.”
Her condition was getting worse and worse. When she meditated practicing, she often drenched with a cold sweat with her four limbs of the body cold and her face pale, which was the Master’s eliminating karma for her as she said.
Once my wife fell in a faint, I dialed the emergency phone number 120 immediately. After the treatment, she was given a life at last. The doctor seriously told me that myocardial infarction was caused by my wife’s long high blood pressure and not taking medicine regularly, she should take medicine on time and not do strenuous exercise in the future.
After that my wife seemed a bit doubtful about Falun Gong’s effect of curing diseases and eliminating karma. She began to take medicine every day and got better gradually. But when other practitioners saw that she was taking medicine, they all scolded her, saying, “You are taking pills and have injections. Don’t you believe the Master? You are disloyal and the Master will not eliminate karma for you forever.” Under their harsh scolding, my wife threw all the medicine prescribed at hospital into the dump no matter how our children and I advised her.
In that way my wife’s disease was kept putting off. Untill on a deep night of March, 2003, while she was meditating on bed, she suddenly tumbled headlong. When the ambulance arrived she had stopped breathing.
Till the last moment of her life, she had been reciting “Falun Dafa is good” and hoping to obtain the Master’s blessing. Authenticated by hospital my wife died of acute myocardial infarction at the age of 55.
