Ms. Zhang, 48, is an accountant with a secondary vocational education level. She had long been in ill-health and had been treated for cancer. So she regularly took about ten different kinds of medicine. Told that Falun Gong could cure diseases, she began to practice it in March 1999. She spent a lot of time reading Falun Gong books. After two months, she claimed to see the "wheel of law" descend from the sun into her living room. One day, she suddenly realized the "truth" that medicine could not cure her diseases. So she stopped taking medicine. In May 1999 she often made tearful scenes and became incoherent. Before she talked to her family she had to asked for instructions from Li Hongzhi first, she said, and several times she attempted to rush out of the house, for no apparent reason.
In hospital she did not cooperate with the doctor. When she got better she believed that Falun Gong had saved her. She said that her master knew everything in the world, and could even heard her talking with the doctor. She thought, once the universal magnetic field was connected, her master's voice would be heard all over the world, and people who did not practice Falun Gong could not understand that.
