"It was Falun Gong that made me jump from the third floor of a building and become like this!" Du Xiaoling shed tears when she recalled these miserable days. Her husband works in a construction team and they have lovely children. They were a happy family. Last July, she began to practice Falun Gong with the hope of improving her health and became greatly attracted to it. Two months later, Du Xiaoling became reticent. Other than sitting and meditating, she only read books. She cared little about her children and household affairs. Gradually she became insane. On 18 August, 1998, she was taken to the hospital. At five o'clock the following afternoon, she shouted, "Master Li is taking me to Paradise!" and jumped from the third floor of the hospital building. After seven days and nights of emergency treatment, Du came back to life, but could no longer move her legs and became permanently disabled. Her family had since fallen into difficulties.
