Since the establishment of the Epoch Times and its website, suspicious news, namely rumors, has emerged on the media outlets everyday. Rumors aimied at are always available. Some reports are based on exaggeration, while some others are created out of nothing. For instance, the report on live organ harvesting in Sujiatun was completely fabricated by Falun Gong and the Epoch. As to the real people and real events, the Epoch focuses on sensationalism and hyperbole. Their behavior has won them a reputation of being rumor originators and disseminators among domestic and foreign media as well as with Internet users.

In 2006, Falun Gong released a report on live organ harvesting in Sujiatun. To further spread the rumor, the Epoch opened a special column on its website, which made the smalla well-known place. The report claimed that more than 6, 000 Falun Gong practitioners had been secretly detained in the village and the organs of several hundred practitioners were harvested everyday while they were still alive. Even after the report was proved to be a lie by the US Embassy in , Falun Gong media did not stop their attempts to spread the rumor. They invited some so-called international celebrities to lobby for them here and there. Now that several years have passed, the report on live organ harvesting in Sujiatun has turned Epoch into a laughing stock of the international community.

In 2008, the Epoch smeared ’s efforts to host the Olympic Games. They released a series of articles claiming that China was not able to host the Olympic Games, and even predicted that the CCP would collapse before the Olympic Games, all of which reflected that they were making use of every chance to bring disgrace on China. The Epoch tried hard to spread rumors about the Olympic Games. On July 28, just prior to the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games, Anna, a journalist working for Epoch, wrote in the article "Beijing Olympic Games, Gospel or Misfortune for CCP?" that the prospects for the Olympic Games were rather unpredictable. Before the release of this article, a large number of rumors had been published by the Epoch. Such articles include "The Collapse of CCP is Needed for Hosting the Olympic Games", "The Countdown of Olympic Games Is the Countdown of CCP Collapse", "The Apocalypse Predicted Bush May Witness CCP Collapse in the Trip to Olympic Games". Tang Zi, a faithful writer for the Epoch, made a more ridiculous prediction that CCP would collapse on August 8, 2008, which turned out to be a foolish joke.

It seems that the Epoch has become extremely excited in recent times. The Epoch made a fuss about the fall of Bo Xilai and Wang Lijun, but their real target is not limited to Bo Xilai and Wang Lijun. The Epoch has established a special column titled "Focus: Chongqing Event may Trigger Collapse of CCP", which obviously reflected their real purpose. There are nearly 100 CCP-relevant articles in the column, several scores of which involve rumors or exaggerated accounts. The false news highlighted the striking insight and the secrets released by well informed people, while neglecting CCP’s decision to oust Bo and Wang.

Rumors have become unacceptable in any society. When the truth is fully revealed, people hate the rumormongers bitterly. Epoch is the mouthpiece of the Falun Gong movement. In recent years, Falun Gong has kept on smearing with the assistance of its anti–China allies in western countries. They made use of every chance to bring disgrace on . On the one hand, they are complaining that they are under the suppression of; on the other hand, they are vigorously smearing . They collaborate with their bosses to spread rumors againstno matter what is doing, good or bad. They take every opportunity to spread rumors, and have become rumor originators and a dump yard. They have become like rats scurrying across a street, with everybody shouting, "Kill it!"
