Just like many people, He Junjie also had a wish that he had never told anyone about before, i.e., he could help his parents live a happy life when they grow old. This wish was plain and simple, but it showed his grateful heart.
However, He Junjie's wish failed to come true, as his parents died prematurely at not too old an age. Their death not only made people feel sad for them but also sparked anger at Falun Gong. In a word, they lost their lives because they believed in Master Li Hongzhi and his "Dafa".
As his parents died prematurely, He Jundie no longer had the opportunity to show his love and care for them. In his heart, there was only resentment toward Falun Gong and its leader Li Hongzhi. "Falun Gong is a demon, and Li Hongzhi is a big liar. He should be shot at, as he has done only harmful things to people!" said He Junjie.
He Junjie lives in a community under the management of Wanjiazui Neighborhood Committee, Zoushi Township, Taoyuan County, Hunan Province. He is the second child of three siblings in his family. His mother was called Zhang Mingjun, and his father He Deyuan.
Zhang Mingjun and He Deyuan were both hard-working and simple farmers. According to their son He Junjie, his family was poor when he was a child. In order to live a better life, his parents worked day and night, winning the praise of the neighbors for their hard work and ability. They provided He Deyuan and his siblings with a warm family atmosphere, making them feel happy during the days when they were not rich.
However, the aspiration of the family for a better life was shattered by the Falun Gong cult. In 1996, Zhang Mingjun, unfortunately, fell into the mire of this life-threatening cult. Due to his single-minded belief in Master Li Hongzhi and his Dafa, Zhang Mingjun rarely contacted her family and friends after leaving home. He cared nothing about the life of her family members, as Master Li Hongzhi said, "Who is your mother? Who is your son or daughter? No one knows it after one passes away." Under the influence of Master Li’s heresies, Zhang Mingjua let go of family affection and friendship, with only Master Li in her heart.
Master Li Hongzhi said that one person practicing would benefit the whole family. He Deyuan, Zhang Mingjun's husband “benefitted” directly from his wife practicing Falun Gong because, according to their son He Junjie, Zhang Mingjun not only practiced Falun Gong herself but also dragged He Deyuan into the cult a year later.
If only one person in a couple got obsessed with practicing gong, the other one could still take care of various things at home and outside, which would enable their life to go on without much difficulty. Now that the couple was both addicted to Falun Gong, they continue their life as usual. At that time, He Junjie had just turned 20 and was working away from home, while his younger brother was still a school student. As time went by, Zhang Mingjun and He Deyuan, the two devout Falun Gong practitioners, found themselves getting poorer and poorer. That was the so-called “blessing” given to them by Master Li Hongzhi.
Although “Dafa” is merciless, the world is full of love. Seeing that the couple could barely sustain their family, the local town leaders visited them at their home. Considering their difficult life, they helped him apply for low-income insurance while persuading them to quit the Falun Gong cult. Consequently, their family was saved from the brink of being destroyed by Master Li Hongzhi.
In July 1999, the Falun Gong cult was banned by the government according to law. At this time, Zhang Mingjun and He Deyuan still hadn’t understood the true nature of Falun Gong or come to realize their own errors. Being thoroughly brainwashed by the so-called "Fa principles" of Falun Gong, they insisted stubbornly that Falun Gong was a good practice, so they fully believed in its deceptive heresies. They kept saying that their family was blessed by Master blessed with peace and security, and they firmly believed that practicing Falun Gong could eliminate disasters and diseases.
He Deyuan was the first one in his family to be killed by Falun Gong.
According to his son He Junjie, He Deyuan gradually had signs of a stroke due to his long-term obsession with Falun Gong. However, He Deyuan still refused to go to the hospital for a checkup despite the persuasion of his children. Also, He Deyuan’s wife Zhang Mingjun stopped her children from sending their father to the hospital. She said that there would be no problem with her husband with the blessing of Master Li Hongzhi and that Master's “Law body" would help him “eliminate karma” as long as he "cultivated" sincerely. It continued in this way until the second half of 2004, when He Deyuan was finally attacked by a stroke. Although He Deyuan kept "sending righteous thoughts” and praying for Master's blessing, he ended up being paralyzed in bed because of the delay in treatment.
During the four years after his paralysis, He Deyuan, who was full of illusion for “Dafa”, had been refusing medical treatment. In 2008, he finally left the world in pain. Even on his deathbed, he still didn’t know that those nonsenses from Master Li Hongzhi were aimed at deceiving people. The death of He Deyuan made his children feel deep regret and guilt, as they would never have the opportunity to fulfill their filial piety towards his father!
Zhang Mingjun died in the same way as her husband He Deyuan, because the couple was both devout followers of the same Master Li Hongzhi.
Zhang Mingjun still didn't have any doubt Master and "Dafa" even after her husband died. On the contrary, she thought absurdly that her husband died for his insincerity towards Master. Because of this understanding, she became even more obsessed with “Dafa” and worshipped Master all the more blindly. When talking about the night of the Mid-Autumn Festival in 2012, her daughter-in-law Cao Xiayun said she still had fresh memories of it.
According to Cao Xiayun, on the reunion night of the Mid-Autumn Festival of 2012, which coincided with the National Day that year, their family sat together watching TV happily. Being a doctor, Cao Xiayun offered to take the blood pressure of the whole family one by one. All the family members had their blood pressure measured except Cao’s mother-in-law Zhang Mingjun, who refused to have her blood pressure taken despite Cao’s repeated persuasion. The reason given by Zhang Mingjun was that she simply didn’t need to do so because she was protected by "Master's Law body" and wouldn’t get sick at all.
After all, the so-called “Law body protection” of Master Li Hongzhi was a lie. The next morning, Zhang Mingjun was found to have collapsed on the floor due to a stroke attack. Then, she was forcibly sent to the hospital by her family. However, as she still believed foolishly in Master Li Hongzhi, she continued to refuse medical treatment or medicine, and the pain she suffered as a result made her son, He Junjie, feel very uncomfortable.
Eventually, Zhang Mingjun lost her life due to “eliminating karma” before "Master's Law body", which she had been waiting for, came to protect her. She died on the morning of the 15th day of the first month of the lunar year 2013. It should have been a happy Lantern Festival day for people in China, but for Zhang Mingjun’s family, it was a day full of great grief, which was brought about by the shameless lies of Master Li Hongzhi.
Although it was painful to look back on the past, He Junjie was determined to tell people about his experience. He wanted to let people know from his family's misfortune that they must cherish their families and the happy life they are now living, making a clean break with the Falun Gong cult. The premature death of He Junjie’s parents deprived him of the chance to show his filial piety to them, which left a permanent pain in his heart that could never heal.
