On May 5 2012, Hao Ping left the world quietly after practicing Falun Gong for 17 years.
According to her “Master” Li Hongzhi, 17 years was the time needed to reach consummation. And it was Hao’s dream that she would someday reach “consummation” and “become an immortal or Buddha” by practicing Falun Gong.
Hao Ping was born in 1938 and a retired employee of Jiamusi No.1 plastic factory. Because her husband died early, and her children weren’t living together with her, she had been alone for many years. She was an amiable person who got along with neighbors, so she led a quiet but comfortable life. Unfortunately, the warm and peaceful life was broken by the presence of Falun Gong.
According to Lao Xu, Hao Ping’s neighbor, Hao Ping came into contact with “Falun Gong” in 1995. At that time, there was a vigorous mass campaign for Qi Gong, and Falun Gong emerged under the guise of “curing diseases and keeping fit” to draw people in and rapidly expanded. Hao Ping lived a leisure life of retirement and often went out for a walk by the river, where all kinds of “Qigong” followers rallied. Gradually, she was targeted by Falun Gong personnel.
Falun Gong followers told Hao Ping that Falun Gong was a type of Qigong that could cure all diseases and help keep fit, and that even if they got ill, they didn’t need to take medicines or injections with the aid of their “Master” Li Hongzhi who would eliminate karma for them. Hao Ping was always taking medicines for her hypertension and heart disease, so after hearing their words, an idea struck her that if she followed their words and practiced, then she could save money by not buying medicines or taking injections. So, she decided to give Falun Gong a try since she had nothing else to do anyway.
That was how Hao Ping got muddled up and joined the Falun Gong cult. Right after she became a Falun Gong follower, she stopped taking medicines. Later, she made friends with some other practitioners. They told Hao Ping that as long as she was devoted to “cultivation”, she could be blessed by the “Dharmakaya” of their “Master”, going up to higher levels, cultivating her own Falun, ascending in broad daylight, reaching the “consummation”, and be ushered by the “Master” to the “Kingdom of Heaven” where full of gold.
Lao Xu said that during that time, Hao Ping was so addicted to practicing Falun Gong that she went out early in the morning every day and only got back home late at night. Whenever meeting others, she would give publicity to how good Falun Gong was, and how miraculous her “Master” Li Hongzhi was to cure diseases and eliminate karma for others. She also recommended others to practice Falun Gong together with her. If they didn’t want to practice Falun Gong, she would knock on their doors early in the morning, asking them to go practice with her. Because what she did disturbed others, people had a lot of complaints about her.
After the Falun Gong cult was banned by the state according to the law, most Falun Gong practitioners came to their senses and broke away from it. But Hao Ping failed to get out of the mire of Falun Gong cult. Moreover, bewitched by Li Hongzhi’s evil “scriptures”, she fell deeper and deeper into its claws, which resulted in tensions and antagonism between her neighbors and her.
Lao Xu said, Hao ping, who once was very amiable ,now became bizarre and reticent. But when speaking, she would keep talking nonsense. Everyone tried to dissuade her from believing in Falun Gong, but she turned a deaf ear to them. She even regarded those who tried to persuade her as her enemies. Later, she just didn’t reply any more when talked to, and she dropped nearly all other people by locking them out of her home. She wouldn’t get to open her door for other people. In the end, there was hardly any friend in her neighborhood.
Hong Xia is the best friend of Hao Ping, and also the one who knew best about the whole process of how Hao Ping was fooled to death by the Falun Gong cult. When mentioning Hao Ping’s miserable experience, Hong Xia said with a sigh, “Don’t mention it. The Falun Gong is extremely dangerous and harmful.”
Hong Xia said that before practicing Falun Gong, Hao Ping could effectively control influences of her hypertension and heart disease by taking medicines and live like a healthy person. But Hao Ping’s condition deteriorated after being obsessed with Falun Gong. She often had symptoms of slow movement, poor breathings and purple lips.
Everyone around Hao Ping asked her to take medical examination in hospital as soon as possible. But Hao Ping refused all of them in spite of their kind advices by inciting the so-called “Fa-principles”, saying that she didn’t suffer from illness but karma, so she had to keep on practicing to eliminate karma. She added that as long as she was cultivating in sincere, her “Master” would help her with her “karma elimination”. In the following days, instead of being helped by her “Master”, her physical condition got worse and worse. She started to have symptoms of chest tightness, swelling and angina.
Hong Xia said that she and her neighbors were all anxious to see Hao Ping’s condition aggravated to such an extent, so they all, once again, urged her to go to hospital, saying it shouldn’t be delayed anymore! But Hao Ping stuck with the idea of not going to hospital. It was the ridiculous “Fa-principles” that supported her insanity.
“Fa-principles” gradually pushed Hao Ping to the end of a dead end, but she was still looking forward to “consummation” and “Kingdom of Heaven”. By the fall of 2011, she became seriously ill, lying on the bed all day long without even eating anything sometimes.
The last time Hong Xia met Hao Ping was on the eve of May Day in 2012, which was just a few days before Hao Ping’s death. On that day, Hong Xia went to Hao Ping’s home to send her dumplings. During the conversation, Hong Xia found that Hao Ping was somehow like an “ordinary person” again. As the saying goes, One speaks honestly on his dying bed. Hao Ping confided her innermost thoughts and poignant regrets to her best friend.
Hao Ping said, “I finally realized that I had lived in vain after practicing Falun Gong for so many years, doing so many stupid things, and talking so much nonsense!”……“All these years, I spent nearly all my money on Falun Gong while leading a frugal life.” ……“They preach that it could cure diseases by eliminating karma, but I suffer from more and more ailments and severer illnesses after practicing it for over 17 years.” ……“It is said that one could reach consummation and become an immortal, but I am neither dead or alive now.” ……“They preach that one can reach The Great Consummation after practicing it for 20 years, but it turned out that I got nothing and all my efforts were wasted in vain. ”
As the conversation continued, Hao Ping suddenly couldn’t contain her grief in her heart and cried out, “I’ve made a mistake, foolish mistake!” Then she burst into tears. At that time, Hong Xia hurried to comfort her by saying that people could take medicines when getting ill and that she would accompany her to hospital for examinations. But Hao Ping said that she knew her disease had been beyond remedy because she was fully aware of her health situation.
A few days later, on May 5, Xiao Zhang from the community came to Hao Ping’s house to collect water charges. Xiao Zhang felt something was wrong after knocking on the door for a long time but no one answered. So, she called other community workers and Hao Ping’s neighbors to open the door together. Then they found Hao Ping lying on the ground unconsciously.
Although the ambulance arrived quickly, but ultimately the medical workers failed to save Hao Ping’s life...
Today, her neighbors still talk about Hao Ping from time to time. They would never forget the harm that Falun Gong inflicted upon Hao Ping, nor would they forget her anguished cry, “I’ve made a mistake!”
