It’s said that 30 years old women are just in the prime of life. Unfortunately, it was not true for 31-year-old Xiao Ying whose life suddenly came to an end for believing in cult.

“How nice it would be if Xiao Ying were still alive. Then this year, she would be 48 years old, a perfect age for her to enjoy life. It was the heinous ‘Falun Gong’ that got her killed.” One day in July 2017, Xiao Ying’s mother in her 70s burst into tears when speaking of her deceased daughter.. In the sorrow and lament of her family members, we witnessed how “Falun Gong” inflicted tragedies upon victims and eventually brought them to a dead end.

She got roped in the cult after coming across a wrong guy

Xiao Ying was born in March 1969 and on the 24th of the first month of the lunar year. According to astrology, people born on this day are bound to be sensitive and fond of being appreciated by others. Only in this way, they could feel the value of their existence. The disadvantage is that they might often tend to lose themselves in their own ideas which make them unpredictable.

Xiao Ying, who graduated from a junior high school, once dreamed of living a brilliant life with a successful career and a happy family. When she was in her 20s, she took over from her father to work in a factory in Wuhan,  Hubei Province where she married a middle-level cadre and had her own family. Unfortunately, the factory only achieved a poor benefit and Xiao Ying became a laid-off worker within just a few years. Due to lack of higher education background and professional skills, unemployed Xiao Ying had to remain idle at home and felt everything in her life just went wrong, complaining about the unfairness of her fate from time to time. As a person who was eager to be excel, Xiao Ying couldn’t help thinking about how to turn the table in every single day after being laid off.

“At that time, she always said that she couldn’t feel the meaning of her existence, and she often felt that we were hostile towards her and looked downed upon her. But actually, all we wanted was for her to be health and fine. As for her unemployment, it was not a big deal. She could just find another one. That’s all,” said Xiao Ying’s mother.

In June 1998, Xiao Ying ran into a former female colleague by chance on the street who used to work in the same factory. They were laid off at the same time so that they felt mutual sympathy for their misfortune as fellow sufferers. Although Xiao Ying pretended to be strong, her colleague realized that she was in bad situation because her haggard look gave her away.

“I used to be in a bad mood as well. After being laid off, I lost my source of income and became a pushover in my family. But everything has changed since I practiced Dafa, and I feel that I’m great now and people look at me differently than before.” While talking, the female colleague pulled out a copy of Zhuan Falun (Turn the Dharma wheel) and handed it over to Xiao Ying.

Xiao Ying didn’t know what that book was about at first. The female colleague vouched for the book by patting her chest and said, “Master says that only if we learn the ‘Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance’ first then our life could turn better. I can guarantee you that you only need to learn the book for just one week to make you refreshed, and all those who looked down upon you would enthusiastically flatter you.”

Xiao Ying thought that it wouldn’t hurt to read books since she didn’t have much to do after being laid off. So, she took the book home and practice according to it. Within only one month, Xiao Ying changed from a curious stranger, then to a Dafa addict, and eventually to a fanatic who was obsessed with Falun Gong.

Obsession with “Falun Gong” caused the breaking-up of family

Perhaps due to her high level of concentration during her practice, she really forgot her worries and felt that she was living in a happy “Falun world”. When looking up at the sky, she would think of heaven covered with gold, while looking down at the ground, she would think of nirvana.

Xiao Ying was so obsessed with “Falun Gong” that she was no long in the mood for taking care of family affairs. On the contrary, all she could think of was what the book preached, and she would cultivate according to the book whenever possible. Therefore, what her husband saw after a day’s work were cold stove, empty pot, piles of dirty laundry, and messy home that was badly in need of cleaning, for which they quarreled almost every day.

Furthermore, her husband found that Xiao Ying called her fellow “Falun Gong” practitioners “family members”, and that she turned their home into a gathering venue for “Falun Gong” followers where they would frequently practice “Falun Gong” together during the daytime after he went to work. Their neighbors sometimes told his husband in private that those practitioners yelled hysterically in their house, shouting words like “I’m in heaven” or “Master is coming to save us”, etc.

The most absurd event was the so-called Fa-safeguarding farce. One day, Xiao Ying was practicing at home with some “Falun Gong” practitioners. When local community workers came to visit her, they tried to dissuade her from believing in cult. Xiao Ying and her “family members” drove the community workers out of the house, and then chased them to the office building of the community committee. Furthermore, they sat in demonstration there, claiming that those community workers severely hindered them from improving their magic power, so they had to chase away those “demons” who were opposed to “Falun Gong”.

Ever since Xiao Ying practiced “Falun Gong”, her family lost its peace forever. Her husband had no choice but to file for a divorce. “To be honest, my son-in-law is a really good man. He cares for his family and loves his wife. It was Xiao Ying who didn’t deserve such a good fortune and failed to cherish it.” Xiao Ying’s mother shook her head helplessly and said.

She lived alone and died a violent death

After the divorce, Xiao Ying moved back to her parent’s house and devoted herself to “Falun Gong” cultivation wholeheartedly. But her parents dared not to stop her from doing all that.

“We are old enough to see through those deceptive tricks of ‘Falun Gong’. Xiao Ying often said that the earth was about to be destroyed. She was very scared of it. So she claimed that she needed to ascend to heaven to escape disasters”, said Xiao Ying’s mother. Whenever Xiao Ying’s family members tried to talk some sense into her, she would be so furious that she threatened to “cultivate away family ties”and cut her family out of her life.

Her family found that heresies of “Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance” preached by “Falun Gong” made Xiao Ying act quite strangely. For example, she stopped eating meat while she was never picky about her food before. While sitting in meditation on bed, she wouldn’t even kill mosquitos biting her. In the cold winter, she only wore thin shirt to practice and explained that it was demanded by her “Master”, and that, only in this way, she could “improve her level”. Sometimes, she would burst into laughter when looking up at the sky, saying that her “Master” would take her to heaven with a ladder. Sometimes, she would stare blankly at the ground for over an hour, claiming that she was “having a dialogue with her Master”. Sometimes, she would bump her head against the wall, saying it was a way to improve her magic power. Sometimes, she even pointed her fists at her mother, saying she needed to cast out “demons” possessing her mother……

Gradually, her parents dared not to meet her, and all her friends regarded her as a psycho and stayed away from her.

On April 16, 2000, her family found that Xiao Ying was behaving more oddly than usual. She was uneasy for a whole day and kept talking to herself. And she said to her family, “This world is about to be destroyed. It will be too late if I don’t leave now.” Then after a while, she added, “The earth is about to be destroyed for sure because my ‘Master’ said so. And those who don’t practice ‘Falun Gong’ stand no chance of escaping the disaster. If you want to survive, you should also practice ‘Falun Gong’.”

Her family stayed closely with Xiao Ying for fear that something bad might happen to her. However, late that night while all her family was fast asleep, Xiao Ying climbed to the top of the six-floored building and jumped off. With futile rescue efforts, she died on the spot at the age of just 31.
