A source from the China Association for Cultic Studies revealed today that the overseas Falun Gong organization planned to hold a "Global Chinese Musical Contest" in the  in October, followed by many other global contests afterwards. The source commented that the overseas Falun Gong organization aimed to disguise their cult nature by recruiting artistic personnel and professionals in such fraudulent means, as the group essentially lacks such personnel.

The New York based ‘New Tang Dynasty Television’ (NTDTV) announced earlier that they would hold a "Global Chinese Musical Contest" in October jointly with "Epoch Times" and "Sound of Hope International Radio Network" They announced that they would also hold other global Chinese contests such as "Global Martial Arts Contests" and "Global Chinese Sports Games".

A senior expert from the China Association for Cultic Studies pointed out that, while the cult nature of Falun Gong was already widely recognized, the three major media of Falun Gong, namely NTDTV, "Epoch Times" and "Sound of Hope International Radio Network" plotted and organized many activities to defame Chinese history and Chinese culture.

The expert said that in order to weaken its cult nature in the eyes of the public, in recent years Falun Gong has abandoned its usual way of obtaining and maintaining spiritual control over domestic practitioners. Instead, it attempts to deceive the public by disseminating its cult doctrine through its so-called cultural events. As there are so few artistic personnel in the Falun Gong organization, the cult has held some contests in the name of traditional Chinese culture, in recent years, so as to fool the public and have more people take part in these contests.

The expert pointed out that Falun Gong so far hasn’t realize its dream. In July this year, Falun Gong organized a "Global Chinese Dancing Contest" under the sponsorship of NTDTV. Although Li Hongzhi had claimed to make it the "Oscars in the dancing community", the contest only attracted a handful of participants.

The China Association for Cultic Studies indicated that it had delivered letters to some professional organizations, advising them to be alert to the legerdemain of Falun Gong.
