My name is He Hua. I am 57 years old, from Shunjiang Village, Changning County, Sichuan Province. My wife, Yao Fang, died on June 24, 2013, for refusing medical treatment due to her obsession with Falun Gong and its “karma elimination theory”. She was only 49 years old when she passed away. Her premature death was both a blow and an irreparable loss to my family.
I used to have a happy family with a hard-working and virtuous wife and two clever and sensible sons. Usually, I did odd jobs in the county town to make a living, while my wife set up a stall nearby to sell daily necessities. Unexpectedly, the emergence of Falun Gong had changed my destiny.
In 1998, I suffered from severe cervical spondylosis and frequent dizziness due to long-term hard work. One morning, when I went to buy vegetables in the market, I met a friend, Li Sange, whom I hadn’t seen for many years. When he learned that I had cervical spine disease, he strongly urged me to learn to practice Falun Gong with him. He said, "Falun Gong teaches people Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance to let them become kind and good people. If you concentrate on practicing it, you won’t have to take medicine or injections for your illnesses. As long as you eliminate karma by practicing Falun Gong, you will have your illnesses cured.” He also told me that he cured his high blood pressure by practicing Falun Gong. Therefore, I agreed to practice Falun Gong with him. In the afternoon of that day, he gave me a copy of Zhuan Falun, a CD, and five tapes for practicing, and he asked me to practice Falun Gong in earnest.
After I practiced for some time as Li Sange taught, I felt my cervical spondylosis got somewhat better, which was actually due to my regular exercise and psychological suggestion. However, I thought it was the result of my practicing Falun Gong. From time to time, Li Sange would visit me, telling me that practicing Falun Gong could not only cure our diseases, but also help us reach consummation and go to heaven in the future. To achieve this miraculous goal, I told my wife about the benefits of practicing Falun Gong and encouraged her to practice it as well. With my encouragement, my wife also believed in Falun Gong and began to practice it.
With all our energy being put into practicing Falun Gong, my wife and I no longer did our housework. We visited our parents not as often as before and had little contact with our friends and relatives. My parents often complained to me by saying, "Practicing Falun Gong has deprived you of human sympathy. You care nothing about your parents. Can practicing Falun Gong support your living needs?" Whenever my two sons studying in other places came back during the summer or winter vacation, they would find us kowtowing in front of Li Hongzhi's portrait or listening to a tape recorder while practicing Gong, which aroused their disgust and strong opposition. As my sons continuously persuaded us to quit our practice, my wife and I regarded them as demons preventing us from practicing Falun Gong, so we refused to allow them to enter our house. My two sons, who had yet to graduate from high school, dropped out of school and left home in anger to work in places away from our hometown.
Shortly after the Spring Festival in 1999, a lump appeared on my wife’s breast, giving her a sense of fatigue. I thought it was because she hadn't eliminated her karma on the body. So I advised her to keep practicing gong as Master said, hoping that such minor problems would slowly disappear. However, one or two months later, the lump grew as big as an egg, with hard flocculent material inside. I joked that it looked plump, but my wife felt increased pain. My relatives and friends advised her to see a doctor as soon as possible. However, despite the opposition from my family and friends, I urged my wife to continue practicing gong instead of seeking medical treatment. Whenever my wife got ill, I would firmly support her not taking medication but enduring the pain to eliminate her karma.
In December 1999, my wife had a persistent low fever, so I began to “send righteous thoughts” for her, thinking that Falun Dafa would bless us. But my wife's face and neck gradually became edematous, and she felt short of breath frequently. One night, my wife started coughing up blood, which made me get into panic. I immediately called my sons, who came home hurriedly from the neighboring county and took my wife to the county hospital at once. After an examination, my wife was diagnosed with advanced breast cancer, with no hope of being cured. It was something I had never dreamed of!
On June 24, 2013, due to her condition deteriorating sharply, my wife passed away and left us forever. My two sons blamed me by saying, "My mother died all because of you insisting that she have her illness cured by practicing Falun Gong." Since my wife's death, my sons have never come back home. I am now a lonely man full of remorse.
The death of my wife has awakened me up to reality! Over the past years, I had been obsessed with Falun Gong, which had cost me a lot of energy as well as a great price: I lost my dear wife, who, instead of having her disease cured by practicing Falun Gong, died prematurely for not seeking medical treatment in time. Through this painful experience, I realized that Falun Gong is absurd and harmful, and that it was the culprit who pushed my wife down to the abyss of death. That’s why I hate so much the Falun Gong cult which has committed monstrous crimes!
